Easy Salmon Patties Recipe

By

This salmon patties recipe is very easy to make. I like to use Chicken of the Sea salmon that comes in a pouch. It is already cooked and does not contain any bones. Using canned salmon works well too, but you have to remove bones, which can be time consuming. I also use Old London Seasoned Bread Crumbs. I have tried other brands of bread crumbs, but the Old London has the best flavor for this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces of cooked salmon
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Dash of seasoned salt
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup season bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked salmon, onion powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, cayenne pepper, and chopped dill.Stir until completely mixed.

  2. Add the mayonnaise and stir until the mayonnaise is incorporated into the mixture.

  3. In a separate bowl add the egg.Beat the egg until smooth.

  4. Add the egg and bread crumbs to the large mixing bowl and stir until completely combined.

  5. Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove the bowl from the refrigerator and form the salmon mixture into about six to eight patties.

  7. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties about 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  8. Place on paper towels to drain any excess oil.

These salmon patties sound pretty good. All though I much prefer to eat grilled fresh salmon, I can't always do that budget wise, so I could swap one of my canned tuna salad days for this recipe. Thanks!

Always on the lookout for salmon recipes. Voted up and all the rest. Bookmarked, too.

This sounds like a great alternative to crab cakes or other canned fish dishes. Thanks for recommending brands to use with the recipe as it is always a help to know what brand names the cook used to create a recipe.

oooooooo I love salmon patties. Printing this one out and filing it under my favorites. Now I'm hungry!

Your soups look pretty awesome as well.

Is it evident that I love to eat? *blank stare*

Blessings,
