A Delicious Vanilla Mousse Recipe
Vanilla Mousse Recipe
This vanilla mousse recipe is creamy and delicious. This recipe does not use raw eggs like many other recipes do because consuming raw eggs can be dangerous. Frequently, eggs are found to be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacterium which causes food poisoning.
This dessert can be prepared ahead of time and kept overnight in the refrigerator. It is very easy to make and is the perfect dessert to enjoy after any meal. The cornstarch may form small clumps, so use a whisk to stir the mixture when cooking. You can also use a strainer to remove any clumps of cornstarch that form.
Ingredients
1/3 cup of sugar
Two tablespoons of cornstarch
One and a half cups of whole milk
One Tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
One cup of whipped cream
Directions
Combine the milk, cornstarch and sugar to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about three minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow to cool completely.
Pour the contents of the saucepan into a mixing bowl and add the vanilla extract. Stir in the vanilla extract. Fold in the whipped cream and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Top with whipped cream and your favorite fruit.

Oh gosh, my Mom has an almost exact recipe and I love it! She just substitutes almond extract for the vanilla.
Sounds so good. Will keep this recipe.
This is so simple, but sounds so good. I've never made mousse, but I just might have to try this.
Been looking for something without the slight eggy flavour. Will try this tonight!
This looks really good and light!
Jills you are not doing anything wrong. The recipe itself is flawed is the final consistency is "saggy" and nothing like the picture. You know why? Because the picture has been blatantly stolen from a bakery website!! Can't stand it when I do everything perfectly but waste my time and money on a recipe that is far from the picture.
i typed in vanilla mousse to google then hit images and this picture came up on a bakery website, i think im still gonna make this though because im bored and its mothers day. we'll see i guess, i also want to see if its "saggy"=) it sounds good!
im in the process of making it...there should probably be a warning or extra instruction that sugar and heat is dangerous as it may burn alot, so keep stirring continuously, or it might stick to the bottom...taste like marshmallows, and burn you because like before...sugar and intense heat are...dangerous...
